To all that knew Paul, they knew of his wonderful smile and his terrific sense of humor, which were both on display, right to the end. For those who did not, we wish you could have known his strength, his courage and his quiet immeasurable love of family. When some think of "The Quiet Man" they think of the Duke, people who knew Paul, thought of him. He was responsible for instilling in a lot of us the belief that we could fix anything or at least make it better.
Paul joined the army at 18 and was immediately stationed in Alaska. Coming from a very small town with a 9th grade education, he saw this as opportunity to better himself, to travel, and to provide for the family he wanted with Jewel. It was here that he first demonstrated his ability to leverage his life experience by convincing the Army that he knew how to run a laundry. This sort of take charge initiative was a classic example of his self-confidence.
After retiring from the Army as a Sargent First Class after a 20 year distinguished career, he went to work for Braniff which he enjoyed greatly especially being able to take his mother to Hawaii, even though he thoroughly hated to fly.
A self-made, can do man, Paul took over Contract Color TV Service from his longtime friend, Lloyd Waldrip and was self-employed up until his retirement.
This world has lost a beautiful loving man.
