Pedro Vega Gomez, age 89, of San Antonio passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.
He was a Veteran of WWII where he served with the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles" Division. Pedro was wounded in Belgium at the Battle of the Bulge and at Normandy, France, receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Pedro was a well known tailor in San Antonio and worked at Lentz-Linden Co. Tailors. He made suits for LBJ, Gov. Connelly and many local dignitaries. Pedro was a man of honor who dearly loved the Lord, his family, friends and country. He was married for 61 years to his wife, Lucia.
Pedro was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Chrissy. He is survived by his wife Lucia F. Gomez; daughters, Helen Cervantes and husband, Adolf; Alice Lopez and husband, Roy; sons, Pete Gomez and wife, Mary Alice; Henry Gomez and wife Susan; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
