Penny was born in Moline, Illinois on February 15, 1947 to Norvel and Lucille Adamson, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, James Egger of San Antonio, Texas; children, Kevin Brintle and Jacob Stephenson of Colorado Springs, and Paul Egger of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Madison of Oregon; siblings, Donnie Adamson of Tucson, AZ, John Adamson of Indianapolis, IN, Marie Rezac of Colorado Springs, and Gail Lane of Venice, Florida and many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, most of whom live in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas.
Brothers Ronald, Leroy and Gary, and sisters Marian and Renia; daughter, Mae Egger also preceded her in death.
Penny spent her teen years and most of her adult life living and working in Colorado Springs. Until health and mobility issues became chronic for her, she had a zest for life and touched many with a spirit of kindness. She loved to fish, enjoyed reading and crocheting, tending to her houseplants, watching movies and listening to country music. She enjoyed attending her local Episcopal church with her husband.
Penny was known and will be remembered for her infectious laugh, quick wit, and love of family. Her many acquaintances at The Meadows Retirement Residence in San Antonio will miss her company in the dining hall and at the Bingo table.
Her sons will miss her words of encouragement, her presence in their lives and feel her love as they reflect on her life. Her sisters and brothers will remember the strong willed but compassionate soul she was. Her absence will be greatly missed by all those who knew her, and she will live on forever in our hearts.
Go rest high on that mountain, Penny. Your work on earth is done. Go to Heaven a shoutin’, love for the Father and the Son.
