Peter John Black, Ph. D. age 83, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 30, 1940, in Perth, Western Australia, to parents, Bessie and Edward William Black. He attended Perth Modern School before completing his Bachelors in Chemistry at the University of Western Australia and his Doctoral degree in Chemistry at Monash University in Melbourne Australia. A Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of British Columbia brought him to North America, where he settled for the remainder of his life, ultimately retiring in San Antonio, TX.
He was preceded in death by, his parents. Peter is survived by his wife, Petre F. Black, to whom he was happily married for over 60 years. He is also survived by his daughters, Carolyn Becker (J. Brent) and Annelise Jameson (G. Ashley); granddaughters, Alexandria Jameson and Annika Jameson; and brothers, David Black (Penny Black), and Ron Black (Glenyce Black).
