Philip Wayne "Goody" Goodman, age 69, beloved son, husband and father, went to be with the Lord after an extended illness on August 07, 2016. Philip was born December 25, 1946 in New Brunswick, New Jersey to William Werner Goodman and Julia (Julie) née Solomon. He was predeceased by his father, William Werner; stepfather, Irving Lampert; and stepbrothers, Everett and Sherman Lampert. He is survived by his mother Julie Lampert of Atlanta, Georgia; wife Eugenia Goodman of San Antonio, Texas and son Michael Goodman of Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by his brothers, Chris Goodman (wife Jean) and Douglas Lampert; cousins, Lynda Policastro (husband Richard) and Ron Rosenberg (wife Arlene); as well as many extended family and friends.
He was honored and proud that his late father served his country in WWII and Korea, and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Philip also proudly served in the United States Army, with two tours in Vietnam. "Goody" as he was affectionately called had many dear and faithful friends who served their country with honor. He felt a bond with all veterans, especially those with whom he served and considered his own band of brothers.
He loved and cared for animals, particularly dogs. He handled and trained dogs while in the military and as a civilian. He worked briefly in law enforcement in Georgia and South Carolina prior to moving to Texas.
Despite hardships in life, he maintained a deep and abiding faith and love of the Lord. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all those who provided care and ministry to him over the years.
