

Philip Matthew "Mato" Montez passed from this world unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was born May 29, 1988. He leaves behind his parents, Ronald Montez and Carol Lockett, two siblings, Zachary Montez and Marisa Montez; grandparents, Revs. Luster and Lynne Lockett, Linda Lockett and Cora Sanders; aunt, Sylvia Montez; aunt and uncle, Debi and Phil Lockett; and many, many loving family members and friends. Mato was a talented musician, having played drums in a local band. He graduated from James Madison High School in 2006 and attended San Antonio and St. Philip's Colleges. He was a model employee who won awards for his great service at the Melting Pot where he worked for the past three years. He was a witty, charismatic, independent person who loved friends and family dearly. Mato will be remembered by his family and all who knew him as a sweet-spirited and very generous young man with a wicked-dry sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Travis Park United Methodist Church.
