

Phyllis Wraye Aguirri-Hernandez entered into the loving arms of our Lord on September 11, 2024 at the tender age of 84. She was born on March 27, 1940 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Rachel M. Perryman and Phillip Aguirri. Phyllis was a woman full of life, love, and energy, she lived her life to the fullest.
Phyllis had an adventurous spirit and could often be found in casinos, where she loved the thrill of the game. She was a skilled pool player, known for her talent on the table, and competed in a pool league. Phyllis had a passion for dancing. Her vibrant energy on the dance floor was contagious, and she could light up a room.
She dedicated 26 years to civil service, until her retirement, working as a phone operator at Kelly Air Force Base, Ft. Sam Houston, and Lackland Air Force Base. In her role, she helped connect military service members with their loved ones, a job that brought comfort to many families.
Phyllis was known for her bold sense of style, always dressed in bright colors. She had a flair for fashion and wasn’t afraid to express herself through her stylish outfits and jewelry. Her personality was as bold as her wardrobe—outspoken and unfiltered, she always spoke her mind and lived her truth.
She will be reunited with her parents, Rachel and Phillip Aguirri; husband, Guadalupe Hernandez Jr; mother-in-law Josie Hernandez; siblings, Nancy Aguirri, Phillip Kent “Kenny” Aguirri, and Michael Aguirri. Neice Kelly Sweetings; grandsons, Arthur Phillip “Gordy” Guzman, and Robert Ryan Leyva.
Phyllis will be forever remembered by her children, Tracy Guzman (Arthur), Denise Carnavale, Consuelo Corona (Eduardo), Antonio Carnavale (Sandra), and Deidra Carnavale; siblings, Geary Estrello, Thomas Aguirri. Nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Gilda Aguirri, and Dominga Aguirri; brother-in-law, Joe Hernandez (Linda); her five loving pups; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Phyllis’s love for life and her spirited personality will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Her presence, her laughter, and her energy will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
