Rachel Christine Northrup

Rachel C. Northrup, age 40, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. Rachel was born in Omaha, NE on May 31, 1984. She grew up with the United States Air Force military family lifestyle in support of her father’s, Leon D. Zera, lifetime service to our country. She embraced the challenges that each military move had presented to her with a smile and positive attitude.

Rachel graduated from Reagan High School in 2002. In her Senior year at Reagan High School, she served as KEY (Kiwanis Educating Youth) Club President in 2002. KEY Club provides service and fundraising to community needs. Rachel earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in General Business from University of Texas San Antonio. She enjoyed teaming up with her Alpha Omicron Pi sorority sisters while performing philanthropy work.

After college, Rachel resided in New York City and started her career as an Executive Administrative Assistant to CEOs in the financial industry. Rachel enjoyed the fast paced life of the big city for 5 years, and then returned to San Antonio to be near her family in which she treasured the most while being able to continue her career.

Rachel met her future beloved husband, Russell R. Northrup, in 2014. Rachel and Russell were married in 2019 in San Antonio, TX. Rachel and Russell loved the outdoors, taking evening walks, and visiting National Parks. They were blessed with two beautiful twin daughters, Alessia and Vivian.

Rachel was preceded in death by her father Leon D. Zera of San Antonio, TX. Rachel is survived by loving husband of 5 years, Russell Northrup; daughters, Alessia Northrup and Vivian Northrup; mother, Wendy Zera of San Antonio, TX; sister, Darlene Zera of San Antonio, TX; and niece, Elliot Urrutia of San Antonio, TX.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A remembrance and honoring of her life will follow after the Mass in the parish banquet hall.
