

After graduation from Tulsa's Will Rogers High School, 1942, he was drafted into the Navy and accepted in a pre-medical Naval Training Program in 1943 in Cape Girardeau, MO. There he met Dorothy Marie Gray.
August 1945 he entered Medical School at Washington University, St. Louis, MO. Ralph and Dorothy were married November 24th 1945. 1
1949, having transferred to the U.S. Army, Ralph began his internship as a 1st Lieutenant at the Barnes Medical Complex in St. Louis.
Col. Forrester served overseas during the Korean conflict, returning to begin his medical residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, 1952.
Other significant posts include the 97th General Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany; Walter Reed, Washington, D.C., reassignment to Brooke Army Medical Center, followed by appointment to command the Army Medical Research Lab in Fort Knox, KY in 1967.
Col. Forrester retired from the military in 1969 returning to San Antonio to join the staff of the University of Texas Health Science Center as Professor of Medicine.
He became the first Chief of Staff at Audie Murphy Veterans Hospital, and later returned to teaching.
In addition to his medical career, Ralph served as a Deacon at Trinity Baptist Church.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy; their five children and their spouses, Ralph Forrester, Jr. of Los Alamitos, California; Sally Forrester of Plano, Texas; Alice Forrester Pardue and husband, Ron Pardue of Royse City, Texas; Lucy Forrester Eaton and husband, Dr. David Eaton of San Antonio, Texas and Jeffrey Forrester and wife, Jane of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren and nine half brothers and sisters and so many caring and loving friends.
He is remembered for his leadership and excellence, love and devotion, as a Brave Advisor.
