He was raised in Ennis, Texas and graduated from East Texas University with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocational Agriculture.
Ralph served 20 years in the US Air Force, from 1955-1975 and served two tours in Vietnam.
Ralph was a 32nd Degree Mason and served as President and owner of The Humidor. He was also an elder of Stone Oak Presbyterian Church.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sylvia Rumbo; sons, Keith and wife Tiffany, and Mark and wife Stacey, both of San Antonio; grandchildren, Leah and Jill; brother-in-law, Grady and Norma Billups; nephew, Layne T. Billups; niece, Laura and husband, Tom Johnson and daughter, Amanda; cousins, Nina Brenner, Michael Knox and wife, Sharon, Susan Martinka and husband, John, and Sudi McCoy and husband, Ray; and aunt, Charlene Knox.
