

Ramiro Sanchez Jr., 79, succumbed to his brave seven-year battle with cancer on May 27, 2022. Ramiro was born in Laredo, Texas to Ramiro and Verena Guerra Sanchez, the youngest of five children. He attended school there through junior college and after his service in the Reserves finished his education in San Antonio at St. Mary's University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He joined Sears Roebuck management training program and worked his way up through various positions where he finally settled at Sears headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. There he met the love of his life, Aimee Meyer, and they married in 1979. They had two children, Michael, and Laura.
While working in the financial area at Sears, Ramiro decided to study to become a master certified financial planner. He took early retirement from Sears and opened his own financial planning practice. After ten years he and Aimee decided to retire and move to San Antonio.
Ramiro was preceded in death by his parents, Ramiro and Verena, his sisters Sylvia Salinas and Elba Ramos, brothers-in-law Rogelio Salinas and Agustin Galvan, and sister-in-law Mary Beth Meyer Chapel. He is survived by his wife Aimee Meyer Sanchez, children Michael (Elisabeth) Sanchez and Laura (Ron) Bremer, sisters Delia (Israel) Gonzalez and Marta Galvan, brothers-in-law Servando Ramos and Norman Chapel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held on Friday, June 17th at St. Mark the Evangelist Church at 1602 Thousand Oaks Drive, San Antonio with a family greeting at noon, rosary at 12:30 PM, and mass at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow at the church.
The family would like to thank VITAS Hospice Care for all their help keeping Ramiro comfortable in his final days and hours. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to the San Antonio Food Bank.
