Raul G. Flores

Raul Garza Flores, Sr., age 89, was called eternally by our Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born on November 13 , 1924 in Converse, Texas to Jesus and Francisca Garza Flores. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Olga Papadakis Flores; his son, Victor P. Flores; his grandson Armando A. Flores and his parents. He is survived by eight children, Raul (Dora) Flores, Irma Garza, Armando (Julia) P. Flores, Erasmo P. Flores, Hector P. Flores, Rose Marie (Dwight) Elbel, Sonja (Leopoldo) Mancilla, and Cynthia (Marvin) Flores; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; his brother Erasmo Flores and his K-9 companion, “Chico”. “Dae”, as he was affectionately called, was a hardworking man who provided for his family. He was known as being a “jack of all trades”, admired for his “green thumb” and thoroughly enjoyed “directing” the family “tamaladas”. Although our Partriarch is no longer with us, we know that his head is now resting in the palm of God’s loving hand. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Trevino Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 p.m. A prayer of the Rosary will begin on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a Funeral Mass on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Berchmans’ Catholic Church.
