

His career with the Air Force Audit Agency spanned 45 years, retiring at the rank of GS-15. Raul was an advocate for Hispanics and women in the workplace and was instrumental in many of their careers. He was active in his Catholic church community, where he served as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, delivered meals to the homeless through Mobile Loaves and Fishes, and volunteered with Catholic Charities. He was Treasurer for Club Sembradores of San Antonio for 18 years and served as President for two terms.
Raul graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, and was an avid Longhorn fan. He earned his MBA from Auburn University while attending the Air War College in Montgomery, Alabama. He enjoyed being a part of his bowling league and playing poker with his many friends and family. Raul was a sports enthusiast, especially when it came to his Spurs and Cowboys. Raul was a devoted family man whose greatest treasures were his wife, kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gracie L. Guajardo; sons, Javier C. Guajardo, Raul G. Guajardo and George A. Guajardo; daughters, Lucy Y. Guajardo and L. Christina Guajardo Dukeman; his son-in-law, Greg Dukeman; and grandchildren, Brittany Wood, Paiton Guajardo, Sara and Cameron Dukeman; brothers, Ismael Guajardo, D.D.S. (Pearl), Rodolfo Guajardo (Elsa), Pablo Guajardo, Jr, M.D. (Lilly); sisters, Candelaria G. Zambrano and Paulina Gonzalez (Mario, deceased); sister-in-law, Olga Valadez (Jose) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sister, Sara Gonzalez.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2014, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.
