

Raul was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 11, 1943. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who retired from Zachry Construction Corporation after 29 years of service.
Raul proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army. During his time in service, he earned numerous honors including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and the Sharp Shooter Badge. His bravery and commitment to his country were a source of great pride to his family.
Raul loved hunting and spending time outdoors. His family will forever cherish the memories of road trips, riding in the back of his GMC Sierra, moments filled with stories, laughter, and love that will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raul Martinez, Sr. and Maria Martinez; his son, Raul Martinez, III; his stepson, Henry Anguiano; his stepdaughter, Anna Almendarez; granddaughter, Elaine Martinez; and his sister, Delia Quintana.
Raul is survived by his loving wife, Bertha Martinez; his son, Daniel Martinez; his step-daughter, Yolanda Gonzalez, Joanne (Benny) Martinez, Mary Jane (Rick) Balderrama; his stepson, Jason Fernandez; his beloved granddaughter, Sierra (Cole) Chauncey; his sisters, Olga Medellin, Lucy Cruz, Mary Ann Martinez, and Susie Solis; and his brother, Roger Martinez.
He was a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Raul was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:15 am on February 18, 2026 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
