Raul J. Montez passed away on November 9, 2001. He was born on October 21, 1917 in San Marcos, Texas. He attended Southwest Texas State University, prior to volunteering for service in the Army Air Corps. After World War II he reinlisted and served in the US Air Force for 22 years as a Base Investigator, having served at bases throughout the United States, England and Japan. After retirement from the military, "Monty" worked as a private investigator in the San Francisco Bay area. After retirement in 1985, Monty and Margaret moved to San Antonio, TX. There he was a 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a member of Davy Crockett Lodge # 1225 A.F.& A.M. He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Montez, San Antonio; son, Ronald L. Montez and wife Dorine; grandsons, Michael and Eric Montez, Alameda, CA; aunt, Mary Aguirre, San Antonio, TX; cousin, Fred Aguirre and wife Lila, San Antonio, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, at Porter Loring Mortuary North from 7:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M.
