Rauzia Nell Mabrito

Born in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Velmer and Jessie Antle, Rauzia Nell met her husband to be, Van Daele Mabrito while working at the 8th Service Command in Dallas, Texas during World War II and were wed in 1945.

Rauzia was powerfully devoted to her Savior and her family.

We can hear her Lord Jesus saying to her, "Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your Master."

She loved traveling, antiques, painting, gathering shells along the Beach at Port Aransas and most of all, being with her family which grew to 4 children, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren.

She was a beloved wife and mother whose love, prayers and faithfulness held our family together for so long.

Rauzia was a tower of strength packed into a 5'2" frame.

She made home a warm and secure haven from the pains and sorrows of the world.

Even unto the end, she lovingly cared for and fiercely guarded her brood like a mother hen covers her chicks under her wings.

And she was steadfast in love, faith, and prayers when they strayed until they returned to the fold. Her children have many happy memories of home and traveling together as a family in the U.S. and Mexico.

And many beloved friends were touched by her life of love, prayers and bold sharing of the love of Jesus with those in need.

Rauzia aptly fits the Proverbs 31 description of the noble and virtuous woman whose worth is far above diamonds and pearls.

Indeed, "her children rise up and bless her; her husband also, and he praises her."

Rauzia's ancestors played an influential role in the history of Western Civilization, one being knighted by King Richard the Lionhearted of England. Coming to America almost 200 years before the American Revolution, many of her family were instrumental in the formation of this country.

Many fought in the American Revolution, and one was George Washington's Chief of Staff. Rauzia was a collateral-descendant of Washington through his mother, Mary Ball.

She was also a cousin of President William McKinley.

Rauzia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Frances Terry, one granddaughter, Bettina Victoria Mabrito and one great granddaughter, Mary Ann Nix. Survived by her husband, Van Daele L. Mabrito, daughter Judy Neckar and her husband, Steve, son Van Daele S. Mabrito, son Marc Mabrito and his wife Laura, son Scott Mabrito and his wife Terri. Grandchildren: Julie Wilson, Rick Folks, Sherry Woolley, Laura Hoyer, Andrea Wickwar, Jeff, Amie, Jonathan, Renee, Christa, Travis, Spencer , Audrey and Terrell Mabrito.

Great Grandchildren: Staci, Traci, Jennifer, Stevie, Tiffany, Stephanie, Reis, Keegan, Ashley, Alicia, Megan, Jordan and Hayden.

Great, great Grandchildren: Hailey, Alexia, Abigail, Layne, Brendan, Dylan, Donovan, Michelle, Alyssa and Kaylee.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day."
