Ray graduated from St. Michael’s Academy in 1949 and served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. Ray attended St. Mary’s University and was a long-time employee of Rath Packing Company. He was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Zunker; his parents; and his two brothers, Earl and Owen Zunker. He is survived by his children Stephen Zunker and wife Francis of San Antonio, Stephanie Meurer and husband Chuck of Katy, Cindy Holley and husband Richard of Spring Branch, and Keith Zunker and wife Camille of Boerne; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
