February 27, 1939—May 23, 2024
San Antonio, Texas
Raymond “Chico” Enriquez, 85, was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born on February 27, 1939. His parents were Apolonio and Claudia Enriquez from San Antonio, Texas. Raymond graduated from Lanier High School in 1958 and was a proud member of the Lanier Vok’s football team. He then served our country in the United States Army from 1958-1964. Following his service, he became one of the top sales agents for American National Insurance Company. Chico then opened his own agency, CIA, “Central Insurance Agency” which he retired from in 2015.
Raymond had a light attitude towards life, never worrying or taking things too seriously. He loved playing cards, and oldies music, especially Doo-Wop. He also had a love for classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows. He was a proud member of the Hood Lifters Car Club. Some of his favorite things were playing games with family and friends and going out to eat Chinese food.
He had an easy nature with an incredible smile and his sense of humor will be missed. He had swagger, and was a real cool cat!
He is survived by his former spouse, Norma, mother to his devoted daughters, Diane Smith, (Joey Smith), Elisa Caudill, (Scott Caudill), Kristin Reyes, (Roberto Reyes) and ten grandchildren and one great grandson, Robert Gonzalez, Christian Ray Enriquez, Brandon Dominguez, Mark Oosterveen, Sydney Caudill, Kiera Fassnacht, Carly Oosterveen, Roberto Reyes, Cara Oosterveen, Abbey Caudill and great-grandson, River Ray Enriquez. Sisters Esperanza Martinez and Mary Balderama. He is preceded in death by his parents, Apolonio and Claudia Enriquez and his beloved daughter Terri Ann Enriquez and sisters, Manuela, Antonia, Anita, and Julia.
A visitation will be held from 5:00PM – 6:00PM (for family) and from 6:00 – 8:00PM (open to public) on Sunday, June 2nd at Sunset Funeral Home.
