Beloved mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many, Paula Williams, 91, went peacefully home to be with her Lord on October 25, 2021. She will be forever missed and remembered for her strength of character, determination, kindness, and wisdom. She was a force to be reckoned with, yet a sensitive soul to everyone she met. Her loss leaves a void in the hearts of countless lives and her earthly presence will be forever missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Zella Johnson Bates, her husband James Edward Webb, as well as her son Paul Edward Webb. She married James in Louisa, Kentucky, January 1951.
She is survived by her daughter Rose Jeter (Rick), son Mark Webb, daughter Dianne Korber (James); grandchildren Brian Jeter (Lorena), Andrea Dehne (Robert), Bryce Jeter, Marty Webb, Willis Webb (Becca) and Amy Webb. She also leaves many extended family members and numerous friends.
After graduating Blaine High School in Blaine, KY, she pursued a career as a registered nurse, an honored profession which her daughters and granddaughter also pursued. After marrying James, she became an Air Force wife and traveled to multiple locations within the United States and also lived abroad in Germany and Canada. During her husbands time in the military, she managed numerous childcare centers on various bases, a job she thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at, winning numerous awards highlighting her excellence.
After James died in 1971, while stationed at Eielson Air Force base, outside Fairbanks, Alaska, Paula settled in San Antonio and found another career working in the retail world at Joskes/ Dillard's. She achieved success in retail and, again, won multiple awards for her talents until her retirement. Her final calling was at a quilt store where she excelled at sewing quilts for display, which led to a lifelong passion for quilting, crocheting, and knitting. She was always working on one project, with the next project already in mind. Her generosity can be seen in many homes where she shared her handmade treasures with many. She loved Christmas and Easter and was always thrilled to celebrate the holidays with family.
She had a deep love for the Lord and found great peace in the fact that one day she would join Him in Heaven for eternal peace.
