Renate was born, and grew up, in Salzburg, Austria during WWII. She later moved to the United States in 1952. She married Robert Lyndon Veltman and resided in San Antonio, and enjoyed several years of fun at their vacation home in Rockport. Natie had the best contagious laughter, and it was well heard, and will be remembered. She loved her children, and her children’s friends like family. Going to Rockport with friends and family, tennis, golf, toddy time on the boat, fishing, travelling and playing, and teaching all types of games, just to mention a few of her favorite things. Watching her five grandchildren in all sporting and cheer events, concerts and accomplishments, travelling and cruising on girl’s trips, and visiting family in Europe were also adventures and memories she always loved to share.
Renate is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lyndon Veltman, parents Annamarie and Robert Nalbach, and in-laws Arthur and Florence Veltman.
Renate is survived by son Robert Lyndon Veltman II, wife Lori, children Caroline, Brooke and Parker of San Antonio. Daughter Courtney Veltman-Palladino, husband Jim, children Piper, Hunter, and Andrea and family of Austin. Brother Walter Kirchschlager, wife Inge, children Angelika and partner Alfred Dorfer, Elizabeth Schnoell and husband Martin, children Kristin and Alexander of Salzburg Austria. Brother Robert Kirchschlager and wife Diane of Florida. Mary Anne and Dr. Angel Roman of San Antonio, child Ivy Capone and husband Adam, and son Gavin of California. In addition, the Langessee family of Zillertal, Austria, the Nalbach family in Washington, and Veltman families throughout Texas and Michigan, and the Woelke and Cunningham families of Texas.
We will always remember her laugh and life.
In lieu of flowers or donations we ask that you take a moment to give a heartfelt hug to your child, a friend or loved one, take a walk on the beach, go fishing, be kind to someone, enjoy the little things in life. Time waits for no one.
The family of Renate wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of her beautiful friends who have created wonderful memories throughout her lifetime, came to visit, helped out, and loved her for her!
