Reno Kneupper

Sunday, August 16, Reno Kneupper, 88, passed away peacefully. Grew up on a farm in Guadalupe County near Cibolo. Worked 2 summers as Asst. Surveyor for USDept of Agriculture. Attended Draughon’s Business College. Worked for SWBell Telephone 2 years before joining the US Naval Reserves (1944). Went back to SWBell after leaving the Naval Reserves.

1948, met Betty Jo Wilks, 1949 they married. Worked with Father-in-Law (Wilks Dry Cleaning). Later, joined Govt Personnel Mutual Life Insurance. After handling bonds, stocks, and mortgage records phased into property management, leasing, building maintenance. Retired after 35 years.

1962, built home in Northwest San Antonio and became members of Zion Lutheran Church. 1990, began volunteering at Casa Helotes Senior Center. Reno served as President 5 years and later VP. Involved for 18 years.

Reno loved his family, to bowl, fish, hunt, travel and ride the train… anytime/anywhere!

Survived by wife of 66 years, Betty, daughter Susan Noakes (Brett), son, Scott Kneupper, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother/sister-in-law, Phil/Mary Williams, 4 nieces and 3 nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Arno/Viola Kneupper, sister, Ruby (Floyd) Westerman and two great-granddaughters.
