Ruben Santana, age 75, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 in San Antonio, TX. Ruben proudly served his country in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and later flew fixed wing planes. During his military career, Ruben also provided programming support to various commands until his retirement. Ruben never met a stranger and often forged long time friendships with everyone he encountered. He was proud of his Texan lineage and was a descendant of Jose Francisco Ruiz, one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Baltazar and Jacoba Herrera Santana; daughter, Jessica Santana; and brothers, Gilbert Santana and Jesse Santana. Ruben is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Christina Santana; son, Jeffrey Santana; sister, Helen Herrera and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
