Lt. Col. Ret. Robert C. "Bob" Simmons, age 89, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Cibolo, Texas. He was born in Nocona, Texas on July 10, 1928 to Charles and Mayme Simmons. He was a graduate of Baylor University. Proudly served in the US Navy and Air Force, retiring after 22 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Gloria "Vanna" Simmons; son, Stewart Simmons and brother, Charles Simmons, Jr.
Bob is survived by his wife, Claudia Simmons; daughters, Carla L. Simmons and Sarah J. Simmons; son, Jay K. "Kris" Simmons (Zoe); step-daughters, Stephanie Patterson, Donna Kuebel (Mark); grandchildren; William "BJ" Lee (Krista), Catherine Swann (Keegan), Zachary Simmons (Kerry), Kyle Simmons (Andrea), Julie Simmons, Kendall Turner (Maj. Howard) and Kane Kuebel, Stephen Patterson and Megan Patterson. Also survived by six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
