

Richard C. Vaughan, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Garland, Texas, to the late Virgil & Willie Mae Vaughan, Richard attended Garland High School and played tennis in the Florida Orange Bowl, and later went on to Texas A&M University in 1956 on a tennis scholarhip. After the birth of his son, Richard transferred to North Texas University and graduated in 1959. Richard enjoyed a very successful career in the Material Handling business for over 40 years. His passion was baseball and Richard was involved in the Alamo Heights Little League (TX) as an assistant coach, the SA Quarterback Club (TX), the Legends of Baseball (NY), Play at the Plate (NY) & Wooden Bat Tournament (FL) as a 3rd baseman and pitcher.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Isabel Madsen-Vaughan; son and daughter-in-law, Vic & Cheri Vaughan; Vic’s mother, Roberta Svien; Step-son Nels Madsen and his wife Erica; grandsons Shawn Vaughan and his wife Stacie, Blake Vaughan, granddaughter Brittany Franklin and her husband Chris; great-grandchildren Lola Vaughan, Pierson Vaughan, Lalique Vaughan, Piper Franklin and Brooks Madsen.
