RN Kelly Marie Mitchell, BSN

Kelly Marie Mitchell, RN, BSN, died on Sunday, August 31, at the age of 51, after a long illness. She is survived by her parents, Gary and Joan Mitchell, of San Antonio; her brother, Craig Mitchell, his wife Katherine Chiarello, their daughter Olivia, age 2, of Austin, Texas; her brother, Mike Mitchell and his companion Lori Newman, of Rochester Hills, Michigan; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kelly graduated with honors from the UT Health Science Center School of Nursing. She served as president of the National Student Nurses Association and was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She was employed by Methodist Hospital and Santa Rosa Children's Hospital.

The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Luis Rodriguez of the START Center, Beverly Oakes and her therapy cat Junior, the staff at Paramount Rehab and Healthcare, and the many angels at Gentiva Hospice.

Visitation will take place at Porter Loring Mortuary North, on Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. There will be no viewing.
