Robert Jimenez Galindo, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on April 5, 2025 at the tender age of 63. He was born on October 21, 1961 in Altus, Oklahoma to mother, Viola Jimenez. He was born as the middle child of three, Robert naturally took on the role of the dependable one—always the voice of reason, the one you could count on, and the steady hand in times of need. Whether it was advice, a kind gesture, or financial help, Robert never hesitated to step up for those he loved.
A proud graduate of Wheatley High School, Robert’s future was forever changed thanks to the encouragement of his football coaches to pursue a college education. That conversation led him to St. Mary’s University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance in 1984. He later earned a master’s degree in finance from Our Lady of the Lake University and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant in 1991.
Robert's professional journey was marked by dedication and excellence. He worked for the City of San Antonio’s Public Works Department for 17 years, followed by positions at New York Life, USAA, and eventually the City of Schertz, where he discovered a true passion for municipal finance. In 2015, Robert took on the role of Finance Director for the City of Alamo Heights, a job he described as fulfilling.
Despite his impressive career, Robert’s proudest achievement was being the primary caregiver to his beloved mother for nine years. Balancing a demanding job with caregiving wasn’t easy, but he considered it the most important and rewarding chapter of his life. He made sure to honor his mother’s wishes with grace and compassion until her passing in 2015.
Robert was a passionate fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved trying new restaurants and cuisines. Though he never had children of his own, he treated his nieces and nephews as if they were his own—showering them with love, attention, and guidance. He was a numbers man by trade but had a kind heart and a generous spirit that left a mark on everyone who knew him.
He will be reunited in heaven with his mother, Viola Jimenez; siblings, Mary Flores and Javier Jimenez; uncles, Tomas and Blas Jimenez; and niece, Valerie Ann Jimenez.
Robert’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, humility, and purpose will always be remembered by his niece, Martha Danielle De Los Reyes and nephew, Joshua Ralph Jimenez. Great-niece, Kaylean, Cousins Janet, Andrew, Vicky, Bobby and Patty; aunt, Maria Martinez; and numerous friends and extended family.
