

He was born in Wellsville, Ohio on April 4, 1921. He was a member of the Northwood Presbyterian Church and a Mason.
Bob entered military service with the U.S. Army in October 1942 and was a combat veteran of World War II, serving with the 83rd Infantry Division, and with the 24th Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded during the Normandy Campaign, the Bronze Star for exemplary conduct in combat during World War II, a letter of commendation written by General William F. Dean for his conduct at Taejon in the opening days of the Korean Conflict, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge with second star award.
He served tours of duty in Great Britain, France, Alaska, Turkey, Korea, Japan, and various stations in the United States.
Bob returned from the Air Force in 1963 and settled in San Antonio to be closer to his wifes' family.
He worked in the 1960s and 1970s with the US Post Office and Texas State Optical.
He is survived by his beloved wife Genevieve; daughters Patricia Ann Nichols and husband John, Joyce Marie Hamilton, Linda Eve Hamilton and husband Michael W. Rodriguez, and Mary Kay DeSarro and husband Leonard; son Robert T. Hamilton, Jr. and wife Beverly; sister Ada May Stumpe and husband Bert; six grandchildren, a great-grandson, and a great-granddaughter; nine nephews and two nieces. Bob Hamilton was a devoted family man who loved his wife and children.
His family fondly remembers his sense of humor, love of travel, spirit of adventure, and his enthusiasm for family camping trips across the United
States during the 1950s and 1960s. All who knew and loved him will miss him.
