He was born on August 10, 1948, in Brownsville, TX, to Robert and Elizabeth Brown Martindale. A long-time resident of Austin, he was graduated from Texas Tech University. Dan worked for the Texas Department of Transportation, Austin, from which he retired.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed driving his beloved Corvette.
Dan will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and generous heart toward family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dan's honor to Alamo Hospice, 114 Glenview, Suite 100, San Antonio, TX 78228.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Martindale. Survivors include his father, Robert R. Martindale; 2 sisters, Anne Jackson and husband, Jim, and Mary Foss and husband Peter; 2 nephews, Lloyd Jackson and Tyler Jackson; a niece, Elizabeth Foss; and a great-nephew, Evan Jackson.
