Joe Meador, after a life full of humor and kindness, challenges and successes, loyalty and devotion to his family and to God, has gone home to be with the Lord at the age of 76 years. He was born January 21, 1940 to Orvis Ellis Meador and Mildred Meador. He graduated from Texas Military Institute, Baylor University and Baylor University School of Law.
He married the love of his life, Bonnie Folbre, and became the father of two children, Bobby and Lisa. He built a thriving law practice doing mainly civil trial work. He was a member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school there for many years. He and Bonnie were distributors of food for Meals on Wheels from 1998 until this year. He was a member of the German Club, the Order of the Alamo and the San Antonio Country Club. Joe enjoyed ranching and the outdoors.
His faith in Jesus Christ sustained him. We are confident that he is in the company of our Lord who has welcomed him with the blessing, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
He is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Orvis Ellis Meador, Jr. and John Henry Meador. Surviving him are his wife, Bonnie, and his two children; his son Robert Joseph Meador, Jr. and his wife, Karen, and his daughter, Lisa Meador Thielemann and her husband, Brad, and their children Anna Caroline, Thomas Meador and Sarah Folbre Thielemann.
The funeral will be at 2pm on Friday, June 17, 2016, at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church.
