He attended Hot Wells High School in San Antonio and graduated in 1950. Robert lettered in football, basketball and track while attending Hot Wells High.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954 USS Picking, he is a Korean War Veteran. Robert retired from San Antonio ISD Maintenance Dept and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
He flew pigeons for 45 years and was a member of the San Antonio Limited Pigeon Club.
Survivors: sisters, Irene Long of Tahleqah, OK, and Kathleen Claeys of Salt Lake, UT; and nephew, Charles Claeys of Los Angeles, CA.
