Robert Roland Renteria

Robert Roland Renteria, known affectionately as Bobby to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, in his hometown of San Antonio, TX, at the age of 62. Born on January 10, 1962, also in San Antonio, Bobby's life was one marked by passion, dedication, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Bobby was preceded in death by his loving parents, Manuel (Manny) Renteria and Mary Ellen Renteria. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his daughter, Mary Renteria, who was the apple of his eye. He is also survived by his siblings, Cecilia (Cissy) Buck, Victor Renteria, Daniel Renteria, and Rebecca (Becky) Offner. His nieces, nephews, a host of friends, and his extended softball family will fondly remember the warmth and laughter he shared with them.

Bobby's life was a testament to his passionate nature, whether it was in his personal relationships or on the softball field. As a cherished softball umpire, he was a respected and integral part of the local sports community. His fair play and good humor were as much a part of the game as the bases and bats. Bobby's dedication to the sport was only matched by the love and guidance he provided to the players, both young and old.

His interests extended beyond the diamond, as he was a man of many hobbies and a friend to all. Bobby's presence was a source of stability and joy, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bobby's life was a beautiful mosaic of moments shared with family and friends, and his legacy will continue to inspire those he left behind. His passion for life, his unwavering support for his loved ones, and his commitment to his community are the hallmarks of a life well-lived.

As we bid farewell to Bobby, we celebrate the time we were fortunate enough to share with him. A celebration of life for Robert will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Church Hall, 600 Oblate Dr, San Antonio, TX 78216. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Blesses Sacrament Church, 600 Oblate Dr, San Antonio, TX 78216.
