Robert James Sells

James was born July 18th, 1937 in Wilson County, Texas to Ben and Irene (Kasprik) Sells.

James graduated from Burbank High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1955. He married his loving wife shortly before joining the Air Force, where he worked as an Airplane Mechanic for four years.

Following his service, he returned to San Antonio where he was employed by CPS Energy for 55 years, until his retirement in 1995.

In his free time, James enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, playing pool, and working on cars. He was a valued member of the American Legion and VFW, as well as a longtime member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

James is proceeded in death by his parents, Ben and Irene; brother, Lloyd; sister Patricia “Patsy”; and son-in-law, Rodney.

He is survived by his brother, Ervin; wife, Adele; three daughters, Cindy Hoepken (Rodney - Deceased), Wendy Sells, and Kathleen Crawford (Kevin); 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral Services to be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (4411 Moana Drive) March 9th. Rosary at 9:30AM followed by Mass at 10AM. Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery following service.

In lieu of flowers, family asks for donations to be made in James’ name to SNAP (Spay-Neuter Assistance Program).
