He was a medic serving in Europe and later escorted WWII casualties to their homes. He then served in the Adjutant General's Corps in Korea and in the Iowa Military District, where he met his wife, Cynthia.
As a member of the Intelligence Corps, he served Stateside and in Vietnam and Puerto Rico, retiring to San Antonio after 28 years of service.
He is a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, the Men's Garden Club of San Antonio, is a 32° Mason and Life Member of MENSA.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 54 years, Cynthia; children, Judith Joy Glover; Robert Louis Jr.; Stephanie Sue Corbin and Stanley Simon; grandchildren: Darrell Heath, Jamie Mussog, Tracey Thompson; and brother, Donald E. Thompson.
