

Robert “Bob” Treviño, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by his daughters and adoring wife. He was born on June 7, 1939, in Alice, Texas to Adelina Flores and Ignacio Treviño.
In 1957, Bob graduated from W.B. Ray High School (Corpus Christi) and attended Texas A&I University (Kingsville) on a football scholarship. As a player during their first national championship in 1959, he was on the first team to be inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 2009. Bob later transferred to the University of Houston where he graduated with a BBA in Economics & Finance in 1964. While attending college, he also enlisted in the Marine Corp Reserves, where he proudly served for six years.
In 1967, Bob moved to San Antonio and joined Frost National Bank as an Installment Loan Officer. There, he re-connected with his childhood friend, Lilia Gonzalez, whom he fell in love with and married on June 8, 1968. Married for 55 years, Bob was a devoted husband and family man. Together, they raised four daughters and became the grandparents of eight grandchildren, whom he cherished greatly.
Continuing his education, Bob went on to receive a BS from the New York Institute of Finance in Security Analysis in 1972, before joining Rotan Mosely as a broker. Bob achieved great success over his fifty-four years in finance and rose to the position of Vice President of Wealth Management with Morgan Stanley, before retiring in 2011. To the many clients he served in the US and abroad, he leaves a legacy of friendship, loyalty, integrity, and professionalism.
In his spare time, Bob was an avid golfer who loved the game. On a weekly basis, he immensely enjoyed time with friends and companions on the courses of Canyon Creek and Sonterra’s Country Club. While known to some as the “King of the Duck Hook Slice”, a memorable moment was his hole in one during the annual Sunburst Golf tournament in 1986; with a winning drive exactly 169 yards on hole number nine.Bob served the Lord with his whole heart and life and faith was at the core of who he was as a man. He led his family biblically, with the Bible as his sole authority. He honored God in business and family, and was active in many Bible study groups throughout his life.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio & Adelina Treviño. Bob is survived by his sister, Lillian Martin, wife, Lilia Trevino; daughters, Lisa Trevino, Lori Holmes (Randell), Leslie Cantu, Lamar Muro (Joel), and his eight grandchildren; Nicole Navarijo, Nina Navarijo, Randell Robert Holmes, Eliana Muro, Giselle Cantu, Ryan Navarijo, Christian Cantu, and Maxwell Muro.
To all that knew and loved him, his love of life and family, and his counsel, humor, and storytelling will be greatly missed.
