Rogelio Lopez, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on July 26, 1958, to Salvador Lopez and Josefina Garcia Lopez, Rogelio lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that brought people together.
Rogelio was a man who truly enjoyed staying active and making the most out of life. One of his greatest passions was riding his bike, often spending hours outdoors alongside his brother. Together they would ride as far as 13 miles through St. Roosevelt Park, creating memories filled with laughter, conversation, and brotherhood. He found peace and happiness in being outside, especially when working with his hands and caring for the things and people he loved.
He had a special talent and love for landscaping and yard work, always willing to help his sister with her yard and take pride in making everything look beautiful. Rogelio enjoyed the satisfaction of hard work and took great care in everything he did. He also loved spending time watching sports with his family, especially cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. Those moments gathered around the television with family were some of the times he treasured most.
For the last 13 years, he worked side by side with his brother as a carpet installer, showing incredible dedication, reliability, and a strong work ethic that never wavered.
Above all else, Rogelio loved his family deeply. He treasured time spent with them, especially during gatherings where he could barbecue for everyone he loved. Whether standing behind the grill, sharing stories, or simply being surrounded by family, those were the moments that meant the most to him. His warmth, generosity, and willingness to always lend a helping hand will be remembered by all who knew him.
Rogelio is survived by his beloved children: his son, Roger Lopez Jr. (“Budgit”), and his daughters, Amelia Lopez and Sasha Nicole Lopez. He also leaves behind his cherished son-in-law, Andrew Jimenez Sr., and his beloved grandchildren, Andrew Edward Jimenez III, Leighlani Jimenez, Leighla Marie Jimenez, and Lucian Santiago Jimenez, who brought immense pride and joy to his life.
He is also survived by his loving siblings: his sisters, Martinez, Norma Mora, and Rosa Zepeda; and his brothers, Answer Lopez, Ruben Lopez, Eddie Lopez, Henry Lopez, and George Lopez.
Rogelio leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, loyalty, and kindness. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and lovingly carried in the hearts of his family and friends.
