Roger was a law enforcement officer for 60 years. In 1963, he began walking a beat in Lynchburg and moved to San Antonio in 1969. During his career he was Chief of Police for the city of Alamo Heights and Bexar County Constable for Precinct 3. Roger was a graduate of the FBI National Academy and a member of the FBI Possible 100 Club, an elite marksman group. At the time he accomplished this international distinction, he was 1 of only 209 people to have achieved this since the club’s inception in 1939.Roger is preceded in death by his son, Brian Terry.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy Moore Terry; daughter, Caitlin Davis and husband Derek of San Antonio; son, John Terry of San Antonio; and his grandsons Conner Terry, Mason Terry, and Dwyer Davis. He is also survived by his sisters Phyllis Mangold and Sue Lawhorne.
He was an avid hunter and passed on his love of hunting to his sons and grandsons.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at a later date.
