

Roland Robert Laman Jr., age 87, left this world to be with the Lord on December 06, 2016 in Seguin, Texas. Born on July 14, 1929 to Roland Robert Laman and Clara Mae Duke Laman in Ft. Hancock, Texas. More often known as Bob or Bobby, he was a loving son, brother, friend, husband, father, and grandfather.
A polio survivor as a child, he never let his polio be a disability and learned the trade of Horology (watch making and repair) to support himself and his family-practicing for more than 45 years. He enjoyed making music with his guitar, camping with his family, working on cars, trucks and motorcycles with his sons, and later learning to ride motorcycles at the age of fifty (50). Always a smile on his face, a kind word on his lips and nothing but love for his fellow man, he will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by parents Roland Robert Laman Sr. and Clara Mae Duke Laman, sister Bonne Jo Jones, and brothers Johnnie Dee Laman and David Lee Laman.
Mr. Laman is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Marie Laman; sons Roland Robert Laman III & wife Teresa, and William J. Laman & wife Janice; grandchildren Heather, Melody, and Candice; sisters Patsy Haller, Betty Tidwell, Judy Burks, and Jany Hoag.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
