Roland J. Paggy

Roland’s favorite sport was basketball, his favorite team was the Los Angeles Lakers. He enjoyed listening and rapping to rap music; his favorite rappers were 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, 2Pac, and The Weekend.

On days that felt heavier, he would go to the park and play basketball to help him relax. He could spend hours just sitting, thinking quietly. Roland would reserve his emotions to himself but sentimentally and emotional speaking, he was a happy, humble, and very educated. He always preferred to be comfortable in baggy pants, a loose shirt, a cap and ether Nikes or Jordans. He would say that he dressed in such manner because he was “Ganster”. He liked to look good, and kept up with hygiene, especially dental hygiene.

He enjoyed comfort food such as; gumbo, dirty rice, grits and eggs, bacon and eggs, biscuits with jelly. He also enjoyed sweets such as; vanilla ice cream, banana pudding, and drinks such as, Kool Aide and juice. Roland liked to joke around and made many people smile with his jokes. His pride and joy was his daughter, Kamya which he deeply loved. He would spend they time together to the fullest and forgetting all of his problems. Kamya was the most important reason to live. When he would call Kamya over the phone nothing was an obstacle for her happiness.

Roland was a brave person that never let his pain be a reason to give up. He had big dreams, he wanted to join the United States Army. Unfortunately this dreams were cut short, but his memory will forever live in his daughter.
