Born on July 30, 1947 in Los Angeles, California, Roman Daniel Rodriguez entered Heaven on September 30, 2024 at the age of 77. Roman is preceded in death by his father, Roman Daniel Rodriguez Sr., his mother, Julia Montoya Rodriguez, and sister, Berta Rodriguez.
Roman was a man of passion, he loved God, family, & country. He loved nothing more than family and shared a special bond with each family member.
Roman is survived by his wife Belinda R. Rodriguez, and three adult children, Roman J. Rodriguez (RJ), Mareesa and Dennis Rhodes and Joshua A. Eureste. He loved and was so proud of his three “Grands,” Aliza, Harper & Blake. He shared a special bond with his younger brother and best friend, Robert Nacho Rodriguez and his wife Gina Rodriguez.
Roman had two nieces and six nephews, all of whom adored their “Tio Roman.” Belinda’s family became Roman’s family and he loved them immensely.
When Roman was aged 3, the family moved to San Luis, Sonora, Mexico. The family returned to start a new life in the US when he was 13. Roman reveled in sharing stories of their upbringing in the tiny, one bed, one bath home. Roman graduated from Lincoln High School (East LA) in 1966.
Shortly afterwards, Roman volunteered to serve in the US Army, where he was soon sent to fight in Vietnam. During a routine patrol, Roman was severely wounded and by God’s grace made a full recovery. His sacrifice earned him the prestigious Purple Heart, of which he was very proud.
Post military service, Pacific Mutual Life Insurance gave Roman his first career role. They were looking for newfound computer programmers, which required a test for acceptance and placement. Roman tested one of the highest scores ever recorded and went on to pioneer computer programming with Pacific Mutual Life Insurance, United California Bank, and Jacob’s Engineering, a $8B firm. Working his way up to VP-level and leading a team of 28, Roman finally retired from Jacob’s at 55 years young.
Roman found his true home in Texas, where he married the Love of his life, Belinda R. Rodriguez. He also found God once again.
