Roman Larry Ybarra was born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 16, 2025, to his loving mommy and daddy, Larry Ybarra Jr. and Destanie Gonzalez. From the very moment he entered this world, Roman was surrounded by so much love. He was our precious blessing, with the most gentle and radiant little spirit that could light up any room. His soft giggles were the sweetest sound, and his beautiful smile could melt anyone’s heart.
Though his time here with us was far too short, every day of Roman’s life was filled with pure happiness, love, and joy—and of course, we will always remember how much he loved to jump. He brought light and warmth to everyone around him, leaving tiny footprints on our hearts that will last forever.
Though we can no longer rock him to sleep, hear his giggles, or hold him close, we carry our sweet baby with us always—in every heartbeat, every memory, every quiet moment, and every whisper of love.
Roman L. Ybarra is lovingly remembered by his parents, Larry and Destanie; his grandparents, Javier and Melissa Gonzalez, Cynthia Ybarra and Michael, and Larry and Jessica Ybarra; his aunts, Nicole (Taylor) Ybarra and Sabrina Smith; his uncles, Logan Ybarra, Mark (Mayra) Gonzalez, Ben (Maya) Gonzalez, Javier (Cristina) Gonzalez, Dominic (Maddie) Gonzalez, and Johnathan Gonzalez; and many cousins.
He was welcomed into heaven by his great-grandmothers, Guadalupe (“Mom”) P. DeLuna and Maria Esperanza Long; tíos Charles (“Charlie”) Brown and George Contreras; and baby cousin Miracle Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Family visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by public visitation for extended family and friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, and family and friends are welcome to share memories at 8:00 PM.
Sleep peacefully, our sweet baby Roman. You are loved beyond words, missed beyond measure and will always be in our hearts.
