
Ronald Charles Porter, Sr., age 69, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on June 23, 1952 in San Antonio, TX to Roma William and Mildred Lee James Porter. He attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, and Chula Vista High School in California where he was drum major. He later attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, where he was a member of the marching band playing the clarinet and majored in Business Administration. He enjoyed traveling with his family growing up and had visited every state in the continental United States. Ron worked in the insurance industry for many years, getting his start at McClelland & Hine, Inc., and later starting his own business at Mustang Hills, Inc.
Ron's playful sense of humor and love of storytelling are now treasured memories for those who were privileged to know him. His quick wit and compassion for others will be forever engraved in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues. With his kind nature and warmth of personality, Ron did his best to bring cheer and comfort to those around him. Without a doubt, Ron will be greatly missed, his absence keenly felt, by those who loved and knew him best.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by his children, Ronald Charles Porter, Jr. and Stacey Lee Drown and her husband, Dan; his three grandchildren, Kanethia Fuller, Thomas Drown and Evelyn Drown all of Austin, Texas; his sister, Shirley K. Jordan, and niece Aimee C. Johnson, both of Bellingham, Washington, and other family and friends.
