

Rosalba was born to Inocencio Colin Flores II and Araceli Hernandez Flores on June 3rd 1958 in Robstown, Texas. She was a graduate of Robstown High School Class of 1975. She obtained a Certification in Medical Transcription from Del Mar College working at Spohn and Humana Hospitals eventually contracted with multiple hospitals and clinics within the Corpus Christi area allowing her to work from home. She married her high school sweetheart, Samuel Ricardo Lopez in 1976 where they resided in Corpus Christi, Texas raising their four children— Sadie, Sonara, Stephanie, and Sam. Rose was known as an ambitious woman, constantly challenging herself. Through a life of hard work, perseverance, and dedication, she decided to pursue a career in nursing as her children grew older. She started with a License in Vocational Nursing from Del Mar College in 2005, working in home health and nursing home facilities caring for the elderly. She returned to Del Mar College determined to prove goals and dreams are attainable by completing her nursing path as a Registered Nurse in 2007. Soon after, Rose and Sam relocated to San Antonio, Texas where she fulfilled her desire of caring for others working as a Medical Surgical Nurse within the Baptist and Methodist Hospitals and ending her nursing profession dedicated to mothers. She completed her journey caring for mothers and babies as an OB/Postpartum/Labor and Delivery nurse at and Southwest General Hospital and Children’s Hospital Santa Rosa. Rose supported all in the healthcare industry and beyond. She served humanity as a bedside RN, Charge Nurse, preceptor, mentor, mother figure, and friend.
Mama Rose is fondly missed by her children: Sadie Lopez White (Jay) grandchildren Xavier Colin and Anthony James, Sonara Lopez Ramirez (Carlos) grandchildren Carlos Julian and Isabella Caitlin, Stephanie Lopez Grand Fur baby Pumba, Samuel R. Lopez, II, (Bertha) grandchild Rosalba Maria.
She also leaves to cherish in her memory her Mother: Araceli H. Flores. Siblings: Inocencio Colin Flores III, Ricardo Flores, Edward Flores, and Eloy Flores as well as a great granddaughter and countless extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Inocencio Colin Flores II, her maternal grandparents Eulogio and Martina Hernandez, paternal grandparents Inocencio Colin and Isabelle Flores, and grand fur baby Oliver “Ollie.”
Rosalba worked in the nursing field for 18 years. A social butterfly, making every occasion special. She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, watching movies, vacations to the beach, playing with her plants and flowers, dabbled a bit in gardening, and simply loved sitting at home on her patio listening to music. Her main pastime was crafting. She made beautiful flower arrangements, wreaths, and home decorations.
A celebration of life for Rose will be held with a public visitation on Thursday, March 21st from 6pm to 9pm. A rosary will be recited at 7pm. The Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday, March 22 at 0900 am. A light reception to follow, 1100am - 1pm. All services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Tx 78218.
