Rosalie "Pat" Droemer, 101, passed away on February 1, 2026 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had a zest for life, was always willing to try something new but also cherished the things she learned as a child on the farm with her extended family of parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rosalie Droemer was born in Yorktown, Texas on January 29, 1925 to Mike and Agatha Garcorz. Her early life was on the family farm with her parents, older sister Eugenia "Gene" and younger brothers Johnny and Frank. Farm life taught her resilience, self dependence and baking for family and friends.
The family moved to San Antonio when she was a young teenager and she got her first job at Wynn's Department Store. She was called "Pat" by her girl friends at work and that name stuck with her for the remainder of her life. She later met Clarence Louis Droemer and they married on September 2, 1948 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in San Antonio. During the next 50 years she devoted her time to being a wife, mother, homemaker and returning to the workforce in several jobs. Her working highlight was receiving a certification in fitting specialized surgical and orthopedic supports which allowed her to help patients from around South Texas and Mexico and meet many interesting people. After retirement, she and her husband traveled around the south and southwest visiting states from Florida to Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Clarence and by her siblings Gene, Johnny and Frank.
She is survived by her son Darryl Droemer and wife Betsy of Albuquerque, NM, grandsons Christian Droemer of Scottsdale, AZ and Alex Droemer of Albuquerque, NM. She has numerous nieces and nephews in Texas, Ohio and Florida, many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was an independent soul who always yearned for new adventures but also enjoyed staying at home working everyday in her vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed learning new things and took several courses at the local community college. She also loved to stay connected with her son, daughter-in-law and grandsons, and her many nieces and nephews. She frequently asked her son if he had spoken with any of his cousins lately and always wanted to know how they were doing. Her real pride were her two grandsons and she always beamed whenever they were around. Her strong Christian faith underpinned her long life and gave her strength and hope whenever she felt life's stresses were beginning to overwhelm her. She had a strong fighting spirit and was never a quitter.
A funeral service is planned for Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at 2302 S Presa St, San Antonio, TX 78210. Following the service at St. Paul, a procession will depart the church for Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. She is now at rest in her heavenly home, reunited with her beloved husband and family members that went before her. She had a blessed life of 101 years.
