Rose was born in San Antonio and grew up on the Olmos Park side of Annie Street. She is very proud to have graduated in 1954 from Alamo Heights High School, and from San Antonio College in December 1979 earning an Associate of Arts Degree. She married Tony on September 18, 1954.
Rose was an avid reader (especially American novelist Louis L'Amour), and enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, sewing, and puzzle-solving. Her day wasn’t complete without watching one of her favorite Westerns, or an episode of Judge Judy. However, she will perhaps be most remembered for her impact on others. The years spent caring for, reading with, and teaching her children and grandchildren have transformed their lives in a way that can't be put into words.
Her granddaughter Catherine said about her Grandma, "She had a vibrant and loving presence, and was friendly and kind to others." Her Grandson Christian said about his Grandma "My time spent with her and Grandpa was one of the brightest spots in my life. I will forever be thankful for her love and selflessness." Her daughter-in-law Michele said "I will eternally be grateful to both Mr. and Ms. C for helping to raise their grandchildren. It was like their home away from home - we never had to worry."
Rose’s family thanks Embrace Hospice, especially Mindy Fuller RN, Margie Arzola, and Rachel Dugger LMSW; Ms. Gabriella Cervantes, and Promise Senior Solutions.
