She is survived by daughters, Beverly Stauber, Casey Stauber, Linda Ash, and Heirron Canela; her grandchildren, Mario Anthony Canela, Samantha Ash, Justin Ellison, Andrew Ash and Katarina Nino, Keely Stout, Serena Ellison, and Christopher Canela. Andrew is the father of her great-granddaughter, Isabella "Izzy" Nino. She is also survived by Becky Lopez, Larry Lopez, Mario Canela, Hank Ellison, and a host of people to whom she was more than just a therapist.
Dr. Stauber was the driving force behind the Bexar County Women's Center for 11 years, before leaving in order to establish a private practice as a therapist, and then a clinical psychologist. She was a source of strength and guidance to many, many people. To quote Idgy in Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Café, "There are angels walking around on this earth masquerading as humans…", and Rosemary was one of them.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Porter Loring North Chapel.
Those who knew Rosemary knew that she loved flowers, but we also ask the memorial donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Vitas Healthcare, the Bexar County Family Justice Center, or to the charity of your choice.
