It is with heavy hearts that the Wallace family announces the passing of Rosemary Wallace. She passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025 in Floresville, Texas at the age of 94. She was born on January 10, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to Nell (Routzon) and Bartholomew Krizek.
Rosemary married the love of her life, Frank, on June 7, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. They were married for 57 years until Frank’s passing on February 28, 2010, together they built a life filled with love, laughter and resilience. She was known for her gentle spirit, warm heart and unwavering devotion to her family.
As a family, they spent many enjoyable years deer hunting. This tradition started in the mid-1960s. Rosemary had a sharp eye and only shot 2 deer “blinds” – enjoying the great outdoors in Montell, Fowlerton and Laredo. Together, she and Frank enjoyed the couples bowling nights at Goliad Bowling Alley. She really, really took delight in playing the one arm bandits at Coushatta as we made numerous trips to Louisiana, enjoyed visiting with the neighbors on Domino nights, road trips with the Kuentz family, listening to George Jones, and welcomed stray dogs, taking care of them as if they were humans. No one was a stranger. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her and her legacy of kindness and grace will continue to inspire all who knew her. She often stated – if having mixed veggies for dinner, you’re cleaning out the fridge, wish floors were softer and only had one son because Frank broke the factory.
She is survived by her son, John W. Wallace, and wife Janie; her siblings, Teresa Fey and David (Cheri) Krizek; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cherished friends and her dog, Tooter.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Frank; brother, John Krizek; sister-in-law, Lydia Krizek; and brother-in-law, Curtis Fey.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to our dear friend, Karen Rains, the staff at New Haven of Floresville and Suncrest Hospice, as we could not have gone down this path without their patience, thoughtfulness and numerous hours of providing excellent care.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice or to New Haven of Floresville, 107 Veterans Drive, Floresville, Texas 78114.
Pallbearers for the services will be, Curtis Fey, Jr (Chip), Doyle Brinkkoeter, Randy Pollok and Robert Woolard, thank you for helping the family during this difficult time.
Rosemary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
