

Rosie had a deep love for reading, especially enjoying novels by her favorite authors, Nora Roberts and Debbie Macomber. She found great joy in baking and staying active through exercise. Even in her later years, Rosie embraced life with enthusiasm. She enjoyed participating in competitions at her nursing home and proudly won a medal for the best soccer kick — a testament to her spirited and joyful nature.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Catarino M. Villarreal, with whom she shared 46 wonderful years of marriage; her parents, Jose Flores Mora and Fidencia S. Flores Mora; her sister, Natividad F. Inocencio; her brothers, Jose Flores, Alfredo Flores, and Julian Mora; her son; Jose F. Ramos, her son-in-law, Ted Laurel; and her grandsons, Jose Roberto Ramos, Ernesto Villanueva, Jr.
Rosie is survived by her daughters Victoria Contreras; Mary Sue Villanueva (Ernesto); and Irene Laurel; son Rory Villarreal; daughter-in-law Manuela Ramos. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory.
Rosie’s long life was a blessing to all who knew her. Her faith, strength, and love for family will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Processional will depart the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, for a 1:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection at Divine Providence Catholic Church, 5667 Old Pearsall Rd., Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II; 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
