

In 9th grade, Roy met his future wife, Mary Helen, and later wed on February 12, 1972. Their loving union stood the test of time for 49 years until Roy’s passing. He is survived by wife, Mary Helen, daughters Lisa and Nicole; parents, Roy and Lucile Lozano; brother, Roger Lozano (Diana); sisters, Rachel Rangel (Raul-deceased), Diane Garcia (Clay), Debra Lopez (Armando); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Roy was loved dearly and will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and his love for family. He proudly served his community as a member of the San Antonio Fire Department for 34 years. Roy loved his job and considered fellow firefighters his second family. He was a hardworking man and held a part-time job with Freeman Decorating Company for over thirty years. Roy loved sports and contributed his free time to coaching his daughters’ athletic teams when they were younger. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed gardening, barbecuing, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and UT Longhorns. Prior to his illness, Roy served as a member of the Shields of Christ ACTS Retreats.
Roy will be deeply missed but always remembered with love and gratitude. His spirit touched many lifes and his passing provided two donor recipients with cornea transplants and the gift of sight. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and support provided by Methodist Hospital and Methodist Specialty & Transplant Hospital.
Rosary service will be livestreamed and the link will be made available on the Porter Loring website. The family kindly requests for masks to be worn by those who wish to attend the services in person. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 21, at Porter Loring Mortuary Downtown.
