Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of this great leader. He will be missed, but San Antonio and all of us are better off because he shared his knowledge and compassion and himself with us. I enjoyed the many times he shared his opinions and his own personal spin on what was happening in the work that I did in the labor movement. He never failed to let me know what he thought or how it should be done, but never to the point that I wasn't allowed to disagree or to add my own two cents to the conversation. He always called me "Prima" and I never knew why and never asked. I now like to think that he was including me in his very large "family" of friends. We will all be reminded of the happy and funny memories we have of him, as today we stop to have our moment of sadness, but ever so glad that he passed thru our lives.

Although we haven't seen Rueben for some years now, we have and indeed always will remember him for his gentleness, his kindness and indeed the love that he always shown to his dear wife, Martha, the rest of his family and indeed his friends. In every aspect a true gentleman - with the emphasis on the 'gentle'. He has and will always be remembered deep in our hearts and our sympathy and indeed our love goes out to dear Martha and the family. God bless them.

Ruben was a great friend for my father, and his caring and compassionate way will be missed.

"Hello young lady...." I will always remember his greeting when we came into the print shop -- his open arms, his big smile, and the hat that was often perched on top of his head in the winter. Uncle Ruben was a special to all of us in the Howe family and we will miss his stories, his humor, and his insights into politics and life in general. He lived an inspired life and that inspiration lives on in all of us who had the honor of knowing and loving him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Mr. Munguia will be missed as his life touched so many lives.

I met your husban, father, grandfather a few days before Thanksgivig last year at Bill Millers. While standing in line reading the newspaper, he committed on the article I was reading. I invited hime to join me for lunch. That was one of the most enjoyable lunches I have ever had. While we had only about thirthy minutes to spend, we talk about politics,education,world events,and family. 
I was so impressed that I told my co-workers about my lunch, my wife and shared my lunch story with family at Thanksgiving. When ever I returned to Bill Millers I always looked for him hoping we could have lunch again. I will never forget that lunch. I was sadden to read about his pasing. I feel like I lost a freind. Though I didn't personally know the man, I did hear of stories through friends and family who did. He was given a beautiful gift a print shop which he dedicated his life to. For this, I must also pray for his father.

He was one of my first friends when I joined AACOG. As young as I was, he treated me with respect. He listened to my ideas, and he gave me the benefit of his thoughts. His smile was all enveloping, and he was never without it. He was a good businessman, but he had a soft spot in his heart for non-profits and chartiable organizations. He did a lot of good for a lot of people without taking or needing any public praise. Despite our age difference, he was my friend. I will miss him tremendously, however, I know that he is now organizing God's print shop and visiting with the members of the Snake Pit who have gone before him. Heaven will never be the same!

The Munguia family will be a lasting legacy to this husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Ruben Sr. was all these things. His spirit will live on because of the way he lived his life. You'll constantly be reminded of him each time you are touched by what was important to him.

We will miss Ruben's wonderful stories and his beautiful smile. We will never forget the lunch time's at the Malt House on Wednesday and on occasion joining the gang for dinner on Friday's. Ted would often see him the the Bill Millers on Thursday. Ruben was a hungry guy! Ruben loved his friends and family and never forgot to show it. We loved Ruben and will miss him.
