

He was born in Orange, TX, to Rodolph & Mattie Canter David on January 19, 1918. Bud's younger years proved his athletic ability lettering in multiple sports in high school and later college at University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Bud had a long and distinguished military career beginning in 1941. After surviving over three years as a Japanese POW during WWII, he returned home after liberation to marry the love of his life, Marguerite "Ruby" Aucoin. Together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage before her passing in 2008. During his years of military service, together they traveled the world and made many lifelong friendships.
He retired as a 1SG in 1971 and enjoyed a long retirement. He cherished his family and his Texas/Cajun heritage. Bud was best known for his love of gardening, golf, and especially camping and fishing.
He is survived by his loving family which he felt fortunate to all live in the immediate San Antonio area; son, Michael David and wife, Dawn; daughter, Rachel Beissner and husband, Joe; daughter Cheryl Willeford and husband, Randy. He was extremely proud and fond of his loving granddaughters, Calee Beissner, Ashlee Rose Beissner Davison (husband Chris) and Randi Willeford.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25th at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
